Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, meaning that your body doesn’t store it. We get what we need, instead, from food. Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin. The fruits which contains vitamin C are orange, lemon, sweet lime etc are said to be the important. These fruits are called as citrus fruits. The vitamin C is abundant in these fruits. There is 66 mille grams of vitamin C in orange and 39 mille grams in lemon. Vitamin C is very essential for maintaining and protecting the tissues in the blood cells, and for the production of the collagen in the body and the blood cells becoming closer to one another in the body. The vitamin C is also essential for the bones formation and teeth. If there is vitamin C deficiency, the teeth becomes weak and are lost and on the other hand, there occurs a problem of anemia. Besides these damages, even the resistance power which is very essential to fight with the bacteria is also lost. That is the reason why the citrus fruits like oranges and lemons are to be used often.  Vitamin C not only protects the health but also helps the skin to be healthy and shiny.
