Vanadium is a chemical element with the symbol V and atomic number 23. It is a soft, silvery gray, ductile transition metal. The symbol V is given for this chemical element in remembrance of the goddess of Scandinavia who is very beautiful. This chemical element is founded by one of the scientist who belongs to Sweden named Neil Gabriel SofStrom.  He founded Vanadium in the year 1830. But this chemical is been founded by Andres Manual Dell who is one of the chemical scientist belongs to Mexico in the year 1801. He named this chemical as Francomium. As this chemical is red in color, the name is changed to Erithronium in the later period. Finally he fixed the name Chromium which is one of the element and already in use. That is the reason why, he did not bagged the recognition of naming Vanadium for the chemical. There is a special quality for Vanadium. Vanadium metal is called as Vitamin of Steel because by adding vanadium to steel, it becomes much stronger and attains ability to withstand high temperatures also. That’s why Vanadium is known as Vitamin of Steel.
