By the 18th century, many dynasties like Krishnadevaraya dynasty and other dynasties in which Telugu literature is given importance were collapsed and there was British rule. The Telugu poets and pandits were not given importance and slowly the Telugu literature was vanishing. As the people were poor no one dared to learn Telugu and so there was a stage when Telugu language was going to be extinct. Charles Phillip brown is one of the important persons in the regions like Rajahmundry and cuddapa. He had studied many languages along with the Telugu language and literature. He came to know the value of Telugu language and he thought of bringing the Telugu literature into lime light again. He started to write Telugu books and conducted meetings also. He also wrote a Telugu dictionary which was not there until that time. C.P.Brown worked for 30 years for the development of Telugu language and it is our responsibility to protect the Telugu language and literature from getting extinct.
