Water transforms to snow when temperature is below 4 degree centigrade | Water under the snow layer in ponds do not freeze

snow Earth contains three fourths of water. Water has many special characteristics. Two are main important characteristics among them. One is the ability of water in absorbing the heat which meant water has low specific heat. That’s why water is used to cool the engines and radiators in the cars to absorb the heat produced by them. Also to get free from human body pains, hot water bags are used.

The reason behind this usage is the property of water in not releasing the heat quickly. But water freezes into snow, when the temperature drops to below 4 degrees centigrade. That means in cold countries, Arctic and Antarctica water freezes to snow when the temperature drops to below 4 degrees centigrade. Density of water reduces after transforming into snow. The snow formed floats on the water. The snow floating on the water forms a layer gradually and covers the entire surface of the small ponds. Since the snow is temperature resistive, the temperature of water below it does not get dropped to below 4 degrees temperature. That’s why water creatures are able to live at the bottom of the ponds.
