Surface tension of water helps mosquitoes to walk on water | Water forms into droplets due to surface tension

mosquitoes on water Surface tension is the reason which makes small insects and mosquitoes to walk on water. In the case of human beings, water can’t bear the weight of humans and so human sinks into water. Health department people will spray oil and kerosene on the stagnant water and water in pits. When kerosene is mixed with water, surface tension of water gets reduced and eggs laid by mosquitoes will sink in water. This is one of the methods to reduce the number of mosquitoes. The weight of the atoms in same particle is called as homogeneous weights and weight of the atoms of different molecules is called as heterogeneous weight. There is a special principle for the homogeneous weights and this is called as surface tension in the case of substance like water. Due to surface tension, water will be in the form of droplets but a large amount of water will not form droplets due to gravitational force. The layer on the water follows the principle of expanding like rubber and it will be able to carry some weight.
