Snakes can’t be prevented from entering the house by hanging the gooseberry to the main door

There are no chances of preventing the snakes and gooseberry is not having the powers to scare the snakes. This is just a superstition and it is not true like other superstitions which people believe like snake dances to the sound, drinks milk and takes revenge.
