Reason for the appearance of white parts in black color and vice versa in negative | Photo dissociation takes place in the image is captured

negative There will be silver bromide or silver iodide on the black & white film and when the camera is clicked, the light falls in the film with the help of lens. The chemical coating on the film reacts to the light and it results in photo dissociation. Developing the photo is the process of removing the chemical reaction which took place with the photo dissociation. Light rays are more exposed in the areas which are white in color and so they appear in black color in the film. In the areas like hair, black colored clothes etc, light is not exposed and so they appear in white color in the film. The areas on which little light is exposed is shown in white color.
