Monarch butterflies travel from one place to another | Monarch butterflies have antennas on their face to show them the route

Monarch butterflies Generally birds fly from one place to another but insects won’t fly in this way as their lifespan is very less. Butterflies, the beautiful insects will fly from one place to another. Monarch butterflies are the special butterflies and their lifespan is more compared to other butterflies. They live for one year and they take birth in September and October months. These butterflies are mostly seen in North America. Monarch butterflies move from North America to California. This distance is about 2000 miles and monarch butterflies take more than two months to fly this distance. They live in that region and give birth to their babies. They return back in February or March. Normally monarch butterflies which fly do not come back alone but they come with their babies and their next generation. It is very surprising to think how they will remember their route. They travel in the direction of sunlight and its biological clock will help them. This clock is called as circadian clock. This is placed in the antennas which are on the parts of face. Photo receptors in the eyes of monarch butterflies report them about their angle with the sun. They decide the position of the sun and they move accordingly. So monarch butterflies start their journey in the morning and they reach their destination before evening. No one is required to show the way for these monarch butterflies.
