How does lightning form? | Lightning is formed when the negative charged droplets of clouds are attracted to some positive energy
How does lightning form? Clouds are a visible mass of droplets. The droplets on the upper part of the cloud have positive charge. Droplets in the lower part of the cloud have negative charge. When these negative charged droplets are attracted to the positive energy of another cloud or a positive energy on the earth, electricity is released in the light form. This is called lightning. A loud noise may also accompany the light. This is called the thunder. Since light travels with more velocity than sound in air, thunder is heard before the lightning appears.
