Tallest statue in the world is the Buddha Statue in China and it is called as spring temple Buddha. Along with the stupa which is constructed under the statue, the height of the statue is 624 feet. Humans will be smaller than the height of the toes of Buddha. This statue was set up in 2002. They had constructed a temple of 25 meters (82 feet) and they had constructed a lotus structure on the temple which is of 20 meters (82 feet). They placed this huge Buddha statue on the lotus structure. In 2010, changes were made to the statue and this statue had increased in height. Now, the statue’s height is up to 624 feet. Statue of Liberty is of 93 feet and this Buddha statue is of more than three times height. This statue was set up for bringing awareness in the people and it was constructed for revolting against the Taliban who had destroyed the Buddha statue in Afghanistan. Statue was made of copper and it is nearly 1000 tons in weight. Nearly 81 crores of rupees were spent for the construction of the statue. The total amount of expenditure for the project is more than 247 crores. This statue was named as spring Buddha as there is a hot spring near to this statue in China. People also call it as Golden Buddha as it is in gold color.
