How is the moon seen in blue color? | When does blue moon appear?

Every year there will be full moon 12 times and some times, it will appear for 13 times in a year. We can see the full moon on December 2nd and again on December 31st in 2009 and so the moon appeared as full moon 13 times. This appearance of the moon is called the blue moon when it appears twice in a month. It takes 29.53 for the moon to appear as full moon and the remaining part of the day is combined. These parts of the day is combined and every 2 to 3 years, another full moon appears in the year.
