Can they see better at night than during the day time? Bats cannot see either at night or during day time. Though they have eyes they are only for the namesake. Bats cannot observe light. They can estimate the surrounding with the co-ordination between mouth and ears. In a way it can be said that they see with their ears. Bats make ultrasonic sounds with their mouth which we cannot here. These ultrasonic sounds travel in the air and when there is some obstacle, they hit the obstacle and return back. Bats can hear these echo sounds and understand that there is some obstacle. They could even ‘see’ a thin wire in the air. Bats come under the category of Nocturnal animals like rats, foxes and owls. So they move only at night.
