Consider the situation of meeting a friend somewhere unexpectedly. If he asks you why you looked so, we generally say that we are fine. Then immediately our friend denies agreeing with us, saying that they notice some change in our face. We know the English proverb ‘Face is the index of the mind’. Similarly our face expressions will be there based on our mental tension or happiness. When we undergo severe tension, blood vessels named ‘Vaso-Contractor’ will get distracted from normal functioning. Then blood circulation to face will get reduced and so that face looks pale and dull. Then immediately others can understand that we are in trouble by seeing our faces.
In the same manner, during childhood when a boy or a girl feel shy or surprise, face becomes red.
