What Do Animals that Do Not Migrate Do in Winter?

WinterGenerally, in winter many animals, birds, whales, insects, and fishes travel to other places where the weather is warmer or they can find food, this is nothing but migration. However, to go from one place to other places there are many problems. Some animals never go   anywhere and live in the same place in winter.

 

In winter where the blood gets congeal, the animals never get food, the weather cannot support them to live and they feel inconvenience. For this reason different animals will follow different techniques. To keep warm, animals may grow new, thicker fur in the fall. In addition, many changes occur in food, and sleep.

 

The animals like bats, and bears eat more food before winter comes. In addition they store some food in the body as fat.  This type of animals will sleep for some weeks or months in winter called as hibernation. At that time, the fat will use to live and gives strength. Some animals, as squirrels, mice and beavers, gather extra food in the fall and store it to eat later. The tortoises, frogs’ keeps their food in the bottom of the water, the snakes’ sleeps in their nests. Some animals like rabbits and deer, spend winter looking for moss, twigs, bark and leaves to eat. Like this, the different animals face    negative weather situations.
